  1. I am currently doing a mentorship under an animator, Jane Samborski, at the Coven of Animators ;). Emily, who works at the studio, explained that for rotoscoping, frames can often be easier to work with than timelines, which are two immutable animation formats in Photoshop (once you make an animation in one format, you can't really convert it to the other format without losing your layers). I tried frames out and I agree that it's quite a bit easier, especially if you know how to use the "New Layer Default Active on All Frames" function. This also helped me overcome a bug I've been encountering with Photoshop doubling frames I don't want it to in the timeline.

  2. I'm slowly compiling ambient sounds from the internet to use in my final work. They're all royalty free. I'm hoping to also get some soundbites from friends.

  3. I'm also improving my workflow now that I'm not working exclusively on FlipAClip. I do, however, need to find a way to consistently back up this work...

  4. Here's a clip I've made with my new workflow in Photoshop! I also want to find another way to stitch the image sequence together (I wonder if it's possible to fade all of them in and out of one another for a smoother transition between frames?), but for now, this works, especially since I can use infinite layers, high resolution, and different brushes, all of which I can't do in FlipAClip.

  5. Here's another clip. I'm especially happy with the way the underpainting is showing through in this clip.
