So for my in class project of the year, I'm working on making an animated GIF. I want this work to be different from my summer project in that it will be less narrative and more of a repeated loop. Thinking about the repetitiveness and "motony" of the loop reminded me of daily routines, so my animation will take place in a bathroom.

As of right now, right now I'm pretty behind schedule. I originally want to add some more events into the loop; I wanted to fish to brush his teeth and wash his face, but I struggled a lot more than I expected at first with the overall aesthetic of my GIF. Whereas my summer project, pirate, was animated in a goofyish style, I wanted the GIF to be animated in a style that was a little more serious. I finally settled on using a lot of transparent paint brushes to "indirectly paint" my frames. I'm still really struggling with making my bathroom look like a bathroom, but I'm really happy as far as where my aesthetic has landed for the project as a whole. I'm just hoping that I can pick up the pace in terms of how speedy my process will be for the rest of the animation.
